The following case study highlights our work with a global high-tech company and the outcomes we have helped them achieve.

The Business Need

A U.S.-based company with offices around the globe was experiencing tremendous success and rapid growth. Historically, the organization relied on a well-known leadership development academy to provide a week-long, intensive curriculum as the means to develop talent. But once back on the job, employees fell back into old behaviors and habits. Real change was difficult.

Concerned that the company’s rapid growth would out-pace its leadership capacity, the organization hired Paleen Consulting to design and implement a coaching program for 17 of their emerging and established leaders representing each of its core regions and departments globally.

Implementation

Paleen Consulting instituted its collaborative coaching approach, working with senior leadership, line managers and identified employees (the coaching candidates) to establish agreed-upon business objectives and a “return on expectations” set of measurements.

Each participant then established a coaching agenda in collaboration with his/her manager and selected a coach from a faculty of worldwide certified coaches. This began their 6-month personal leadership development journey.

Outcomes

In all coaching initiatives, change and development occurs over time and with practice. However, this U.S.-based company is already reporting a return on its investment.

First, the company reports that the 17 coaching candidates have increased workplace engagement and are enthusiastic participants in the program. Second, the company’s C-Suite leaders, managers and staff are already recording improvements in influencing skills, teamwork, long-standing “ways of being” and decision-making—long-standing benefits to the organization. Plans are under way now to further broaden the coaching curriculum in 2011.
